From Godot to Unity, and where the game stands
Denied's RPG began in Godot. That version ran through January 2026 and reached build 0.6.31 with a launcher of its own, and then it stopped. On 2026-09-11 the game was started again from nothing in Unity 6, with its own server, and nothing from the Godot build was carried across but what it taught.
A month in, this is build 0.7.0. There is one character with a greatsword on an island. The character moves relative to the camera, sprints, dashes sideways leaving afterimages behind, jumps, and swings a two-hit combo whose blade trails, stops time for an instant when it lands, and shakes the view. Twelve slimes live on the beach in four groups, rest and hop about their homes, and fight back when struck. Every player and every slime carries a health bar, and a hit shows its damage in numbers.
Online play runs on one small test server in Virginia. Everyone who starts the game from the launcher lands in the same zone, sees the others, and trades hits with them. The server judges a swing where the attacker saw the target, so a hit that shows on screen lands its damage. The world is one island in a sea, hand-painted ground under grass that parts around whoever walks through it, and a sky with four kinds of cloud.
The launcher installs the game, keeps it current with small updates, and carries the sign-in. Everything it shows, this post and the changelog beside it included, comes from this site.
The game is early. Everything in it is there to be felt and judged before more is built on top of it, so expect it to change. The changelog lists every build as it ships. A post like this one comes only at a milestone or an event, so each one is worth reading in full.
